Writer's Update: 100%

First of all, I'd like to apologize for being absent from blogspot for the last little while. I'll come and read peoples blogs again soon!

Secondly, I'm proud to announce that I finished reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. While it was really had to get into, I ended up thoroughly enjoying it. I am studying this non-fiction novel for literature. It's the last text we study this year, and I will be doing a close analysis on it and some of William Blake's poetry on the exam. I'll recommend this book. There is a lot of seemingly unnecessary detail, but it's all part of the style and Capote's aim to communicate the facts of the Clutter family and their murderers.

Next, I'd like to brag: Remember how I mentioned that for my literature assessment after studying Haruki Murakami's short stories from the collection after the quake, I had to write a short story mimicking his style? Well, I got my results yesterday. I got 100% and I was over the moon about it. Literally did a bit of a happy dance and almost cried. Ha ha :)

In other news, I wrote another chapter of Katherine, accepted the fact that I need to put Evergreen away until I have more time to concentrate on the edits and started writing a new fanfiction for the first time in like, two years. Any Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfic readers out there? The link to my FanFiction.Net profile is in the Find Me tab.

That's all this little author has to share for now. What has everyone else been up to? Promising to come and read everyone else's blog soon!

- Bonnee.

  1. Well, at least you have an excuse for not posting--you've been mighty busy. Me? I just can't get my head together sufficiently to write an interesting, cohesive post!

Congratulations on all fronts, very good news, indeed. Have you done your performance of Oleanna yet? I don't remember if you said anything about that. How much more time is left for school? Sounds like you're in the homestretch. Good luck, and enjoy the rest of the way.

    1. Oh, Oleanna finished like three weeks ago :) We did four performances over two weekends. It was fun! Though the other actor and I were appalled by the lack of English skills our director possessed, which we only discovered after he printed out the programmes and showed us on opening night...

It sure is the final stretched! Final-year classes finish in October and exams are during November. My last exam is on the 19th! Not much time left at all...

Thank you for your continued support JeffO, I really do appreciate it and I hope you can come up with a cohesive post for your blog soon :)

    1. I haven't seen the movie yet either, I probably should watch it at some point. Usually we'd watch the movie adaption in class, but at the moment it's too highly rated to be shown at our school :p

  5. I post only every 2 months, so it's easy to follow my blog ..:). Getting 100% in literature is amazing. It's much easier to get 100% in science/math or in exams with multiple choices. But if you write an essay or a story (in your case) and got 100%, it's great! Maybe you can submit it to a place that publishes short stories.

    1. Yes, your blog is quite easy to follow. I use blogger to document progress as it is made, while (from what I've read of your blog) you share information about things that appear in your story. I guess our blogs are quite different even though we are both writers. But it's not a worry... Oh I am a dunce at science, I'm not doing any such subjects for my final year, and maths, it just depends what topic. But I am overjoyed that I'm doing so well in Literature :) I will definitely do something more with my short story, even if I have to change some things to stop Murakami getting mad at me :)
